Game Exploits and Cheats
Cheating and exploiting the limitations of the game engine are greatly frowned upon and will not be tolerated. The following practices will be viewed as cheating. First offenses will be met with a warning. Further offenses may result in being suspended or banned from playing on the server.
FISHING – Fishing is the act of luring one or two enemies away from a larger group to be dispatched with the intent of methodically reducing the numbers of the group to gain an unfair advantage. In most instances, if one member of a group is alerted to an enemy’s presence, he would alert the other members of the group.
KITING – Kiting occurs when a character is running away from an enemy and continually attacks with a ranged weapon without pausing to turn around. This is usually done to avoid entering into melee combat with the enemy. This is highly unrealistic and, therefore, not allowed.
METAGAMING – Metagaming is generally defined as using knowledge that one knows as a player, but that one’s character would not know and, therefore, not be able to use in-game. It also refers to sharing information with another player’s character that they would not be able to learn through their own role-playing experience. Both of these instances are not allowed.
TWINKING – Twinking is the act of giving items, powerful or mundane, to low level characters without in game reasons for doing so and who would normally not have access to such items in normal role-play. An example of twinking is giving another character played by a friend 400 gold pieces for the sole purpose of helping her to establish her character on the server. Twinking may also refer to the act of a player trading or sharing items with his or her own characters.
LAG DEATH– Characters that die for any reason including death as a result of excessive lag will not be granted free resurrections unless the specific occurrance was witnessed by a DM.
